What's new in Cloudera Data Visualization 8.1.3
Cloudera Data Visualization 8.1.3, released on May 28, 2026 introduces usability improvements, UI updates, and bug fixes to enhance the overall user experience and product stability.
New features and improvements
- VIZ-3754, VIZ-3760, VIZ-3762, VIZ-3763, VIZ-3764, VIZ-3766, VIZ-3839, VIZ-3840, VIZ-3841, VIZ-3846, VIZ-3847, VIZ-3856, VIZ-3974, VIZ-3975, VIZ-3979 – Improved UI consistency across Data, Dataset, SQL, and Site Administration pages
-
Several user interface components have been updated with a more modern and consistent design. These updates improve visual clarity and page navigation while preserving all existing functionality and workflows.
- VIZ-3942 – Upgraded to Python 3.14 and migrated to Chainguard runtimes
-
Cloudera Data Visualization now runs on Python 3.14 and uses Chainguard-based container images for improved security and reduced image size.
As part of this upgrade, Django has been upgraded to 5.2, which raises the minimum supported versions for external metastore databases:- PostgreSQL: minimum version is now 14 (previously 12)
- MariaDB: minimum version is now 10.5 (previously 10.4)
Fixed issues
- VIZ-3948 – Fixed missing error and success messages when creating datasets from SQL
-
Fixed an issue where creating a new dataset from a SQL query did not display errors when the provided SQL was invalid. The Create button remained in a loading state and error details were only available through Show Data after scrolling within the dialog. The Create New Dataset dialog now displays a clear error message when dataset creation fails due to invalid SQL or other issues, and shows a success message when dataset creation completes successfully.
- VIZ-4030 – Fixed inaccurate error messages during AI completion profile testing
-
Fixed an issue where testing an AI completion profile connected to a Cloudera AI Inference Service endpoint (or another streaming AI provider) displayed internal error messages instead of the actual cause of the failure. AI profile test results now show meaningful error details to help diagnose connectivity and model configuration issues more effectively.
- VIZ-4041 – Fixed connection deletion error when data extracts exist
-
Fixed an issue where the Delete Connection button remained enabled for connections with data extracts, and clicking it resulted in an error. The button is now disabled when a connection has associated datasets or extracts, and the tooltip explains why the connection cannot be deleted.
- VIZ-4045 – Fixed Hive query failures when using Cloudera Data Warehouse connections synced to Cloudera AI
-
Fixed an issue where queries using Hive data connections synced from Cloudera Data Warehouse to Cloudera AI could fail with a Cannot modify applicationName error. Hive queries with synced Cloudera Data Warehouse connections now work as expected.
- VIZ-4068 – Fixed target connection links in the Extracts table
-
Fixed an issue where clicking a target connection link in the Extracts table always navigated to the same connection page instead of the correct target connection. Connection links in the Extracts table now direct to the correct connection page.
